IN MEMORIAM - DAKOTA - June 18, 2008

We adopted Dakota 12 1/2 years ago from the Humane
Society and he has been the best dog on the planet! As a youngster, he
allowed himself to be ridden and pulled by his young human on his
rollerblades and generally became the neighborhood dog.
He learned to pass
notes, running up and down the stairs, fetched the paper and many other
trick requesting only love and affection in return. Now in the later years
of his life, he is quieter, taking a bit longer to get up, walking a bit
less steady but always anxious to please and offering a lick, a bark and a
nuzzle of affection.
He is the love of our life and we are grateful to have
him as a member of our family.

IN MEMORIAM - ELIJAH - Mar 1, 1994 - June 2, 2005

I adopted Eli from a local shelter when he was 6 weeks
old. He kept jumping up with his little white paws, I just couldn't resist
taking him home. (I wasn't even looking for a dog as I already had two at
home). Well he stole my heart and continued to be my buddy and protector for
11 years.
Shortly before his 11th birthday, Elijah started bleeding from the nose. We
took him to the Vet, but without extensive tests which we weren't going to
put him through at his age, the vet thought he had developed a brain tumor.
We continued to watch him closely, and after a few months, the bleeding
became worse and he was having trouble breathing. He still continued to be
excited about his daily walks, but you could tell it was getting more and
more difficult for him. I finally had to come to terms that I was losing my
Buddy and I had to make that dreaded decision to say goodbye to him as I
knew that he was becoming very uncomfortable no matter how much he tried to
hide it.
On the afternoon of June 2, 2005, I gave him a kiss and held him until he went to sleep, and when the vet said he was now running in the green pastures, I knew he was gone and on his way to the rainbow bridge to join all of the other dogs in what I like to believe is that magical place to run free and without pain. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him and the joy he brought to my life. New dogs have filled the void, but no dog will ever take Eli's place in my heart. I miss you every day buddy. Thanks for being my friend. I Love You. Until we meet again...
